Patricia UrquiolaThe Kettal Mesh collection, designed by Patricia Urquiola, is based on the mesh architectural facades popularized in the 70s. These mesh frames allow light and air to penetrate, creating a more open and spacious feel.
Kettal’s Mesh collection is an outdoor furniture series and it contrasts both natural and industrial materials.
Kettal Mesh is all About Contrasts
Contrasts of metal and wood, hard and soft – all of these are built in to the Mesh collection’s design, including the play of straight lines and curves. The collection is comprised of a:
Sofa. The Mesh sofa is made from a curved and expanded metal frame supported by a natural wood foundation. It can comfortably seat two to three and is more than adequate to host a nap for one.
Long table. The long rectangular table mimics the couch in shape and form with a natural wood tabletop that appears to be floating in its mesh frame.
End table. The smaller, round end table has a white mesh base and wood tabletop.
Urquiola is a Spanish-born designer based in Milan. One of her most famous designs is the MAIA collection, featured by Casa Design, which garnered an AD Architecture Design Award 2008.
